Breitbart News senior editor Milo Yiannopoulos says the campaign for President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign has become “a giant fake news campaign” after the White House declared “fake news” is the “new fake.”
The “fake” media, he wrote, is now the new “fake.”
“The fake media is back,” Yiannopoulos tweeted Wednesday morning, adding, “Fake news is back.
Fake news is still real.””
Fake news will always win,” he wrote.
“Fake stories and fake news are what will get people talking.”
The campaign for Trump’s re-election began in earnest in February, with “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” both reporting on the president’s baseless claims about voter fraud.
“The Fake News is Back” became a trending topic on Twitter.
The Trump campaign has since relied on the “Fake News” meme, which has since spread to other platforms.
Twitter has also added the phrase “Fake CNN” to its trending topics.
The “fake media” meme was first posted in the days following the president was inaugurated.
A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
